ANNUAL MEETING 2024 of ICSC โ A Landmark Event in HPC, Big Data, and Quantum Computing




Yesterday morning in Rome, the ANNUAL MEETING 2024 of the ๐ป #ICSC – National Research Center in #HPC, #BigData, and #QuantumComputing successfully concluded. This highly anticipated event, held over four days, gathered the entire community of the National Center for the first time, creating a platform for meaningful discussions and collaborations.
Among the many topics covered during the event, participants explored the post-#PNRR horizon, reflecting on the future of scientific and technological advancement beyond Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Additionally, significant attention was given to the progress of ICSC’s #Cloud supercomputing infrastructure, marking key milestones in the expansion of computational capabilities for research and industry.
The event also highlighted theย results from industrial-led innovation projects, showcasing successful applications of cutting-edge research. One of the key discussions focused on theย use cases developed within the Spokesย of the Center.ย Doctor Valentina Di Salvatore, from theย Combine Group (UNICT), was one of the speakers inย Spoke 8, providingย valuable insightsย into the ongoing projects. She representedย Professor Francesco Pappalardo, the Coordinator of Spoke 8 together with Professor Andrea Cavalli, and contributed to the discussions withย interesting and detailed perspectivesย on the progress within the Spoke. She also shared theย amazing resultsย recently achieved by ourย Universal Immune System Simulator (UISS). These results underscored the innovative impact of the UISS platform on the biomedical field.
The presentations by 10 young researchers, including Dr. Di Salvatore, offered a glimpse into the future of supercomputing, data science, and quantum computing, and underscored the importance of nurturing emerging talent in these fields.
