Computational studies of the Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (ATCC 53103) effects in oncological environment

Project title: Computational studies of the Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (ATCC 53103) effects in oncological environment

Starting date: September, 21st 2016.
Ending date: September, 21st 2020.

Project summary:
Realization and tuning of a computational model that reproduces the effects of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG on the organism, on the various tumor microenvironments, and on the induced response of the immune system. The development of this model integrates the analysis and the evaluation at the molecular and cellular level with the dynamics present in the whole organism (mouse model) and with the tumor microenvironment. The creation of the model that simulates the dynamics of the tumor microenvironment must also consider the specific characteristics of this biological compartment i.e. the different interactions that the tumor considered develops during the process of carcinogenesis (release of angiogenic factors, suppressive factors the immune response, immunoediting factors and internal growth factors).
